Marlene Kathrine Mitchell

Marlene Kathrine Mitchell, age 74, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at her son’s home.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Missouri Flat Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Marlene was born June 3, 1933 in Murphy, Oregon along the Applegate River on Kubli Road to Evan & Grace (Mann) Kubli. She was a graduate of Grants Pass High School. On September 15, 1958 in Mexico she married Jewel D. Mitchell. She worked as a speed seamstress for Roffie Sportswear in Kent, Washington. Later she was a supervisor at ECS in Grants Pass until her retirement in 1996.

She attended Applegate Christian Fellowship.

She especially enjoyed being a Mom. Her hobbies included arts and crafts and she won two blue ribbons at the Josephine County Fair for her greeting cards.

Survivors include six children, Randy Harris of Grants Pass, Rebecca Harris-Walker of Grants Pass, Kathy Mitchell-Cox of Grants Pass, Carrie Still of Portland, Michael J. Mitchell of Portland, and Richard Wyatt of Puyallup, Washington; a sister, Ilda Daniels of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; a brother, Harold Pierce of California; 14 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel D. Mitchell on May 22, 2000; a grandson, Michael Joseph Harris in 1993; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Harris in 2001.
