Marlena Elizabeth Kelly

Marlena Elizabeth Kelly, age 17, of Grants Pass, Oregon died December 30, 2019 in Klamath, Oregon.

Marlena was born April 27, 2002 in Dublin, Ireland the second child of Monika and Jason Kelly. She spent her early years in Dublin surrounded by her loving and caring family including her cousins, Lauren, Kieran, and Sean along with her brother Daniel who made incredible bonds that have lasted till today. At the age of five, the family packed up and moved to Australia. With only Daniel her best buddy and mum and dad by her side, she flourished in Australia where her baby sister Leona was born. She loved the land and the animals even more. Australia is where the family adopted Roxy who became a part of the family and was so loved and loved back equally. Roxy taught Marlena to stand up for what she believed in. When the family was preparing to move to America, Roxy was almost left behind due to the cost involved. However, Marlena stood her ground and said ‘either she goes or I stay.’ Well, off to America the family all went.

While in America, Marlena made the most of life. She made great friends and lifelong relationships. She worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA and later at Casablanca. She graduated from Grants Pass High School early and enrolled in college at OIT in Klamath Falls.

Marlena was fearless, bossy, and compassionate. Her love for life was limitless.

She is survived by her loving mother Monika; her father Jason; stepfather Jeremy; brother Daniel; sisters Leona, Audrey, Clara, and Samantha; and her loving Irish family and Polish family as well.

Let her courageous spirit carry us through the hard days and her loving and caring nature get us through life.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
