Marjorie Ann Coston, long-time Grants Pass resident, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother passed away on April 20th. She was 96 years old. Marjorie was born July 13th, 1922 in Albany, Oregon to Allan and Lydia Stellmacher.
She graduated from Albany High School and attended Oregon State University, she remained a Beaver tried and true! Before her marriage to her husband Donald R. Coston SR in 1946, she had already found her grace and style that she would carry with her the rest of her life. In marriage she and Don had 4 loving and grateful children.
In 1962 the family moved to Southern Oregon, eventually settling in Grants Pass. Marjorie’s first passion was raising her children, then blessed with 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was such a huge part of their young lives, attending sporting events, making prom dresses and sharing stories of her childhood.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Coston-Clark (Al) of Gold Hill and Colleen (Brad) Stangeland of Eugene, two sons Donald Coston JR (Sandy) of Grants Pass and Richard Coston (Glenda) of Grants Pass. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her father Allan, mother Lydia, brothers Allan and Paul and sister Susan Goodman.
Marjorie touched countless lives with her strength and beauty, her family was everything to her. She will continue to be an inspiration of hope and every Spring she will be remembered by the beautiful dogwood trees that bloom each and every year.
A memorial service will be held on May 25. 2019 at 11:00 am at Hull & Hull Funeral Home in Grants Pass.
