Marion Martha Vidlak, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at her home.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Cascade Bible Fellowship, 1515 Redwood Ave with Pastor Vince Vidlak officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Marion was born September 4, 1921 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois to Elmer & Augusta Harland. In April 1941 she married Stanley Vidlak and they later divorced. Marion graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She taught first grade and special education classes in the West Chicago Illinois School District for 40 years. In 2004 she moved to Grants Pass.
Marion loved music of all kinds and taught herself to play the piano, and played by ear. As a talented artist she painted with watercolors, and made many charcoal portraits of her sons when they were small.
She attended Cascade Bible Fellowship.
Survivors include two sons, Vincent Vidlak and wife Sharon of Grants Pass and Jim Vidlak of Los Gatos, California; eight grandchildren, Vickie Brown of Grants Pass, Laura Saunders of Williams, Dan Vidlak of Williams, Mark Vidlak of Williams, Jim Vidlak Jr. of Oakley, California, Tim Vidlak of Oakley, California, and Helen Vidlak of Oakley, California; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Vincent Vidlak Jr. in April 2008.
