Marilyn I. Smith, 66, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2006 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m, Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Jerome Prairie Bible Church with Pastor James Downing officiating. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn was born October 12, 1940 in Orange, California to Valient & Irma Frye. On January 10, 1959 in Santa Ana, California she married Laurence J. Smith. She attended Berkley University and later received her R.N. license from Santa Ana College. She worked as an intensive care nurse at U.C.I Medical Center until 1983. She lived in Santa Ana, California until 1993 when she moved to Grants Pass.

She was actively involved in Christian Womens Club and served as a district consulting coordinator for Stonecroft Ministries. She traveled Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California sharing personal testimony and leading women to Christ. Her favorite saying was – “Look at everyday as a new opportunity.”

She was a member of Siskiyou Decorative Artists and the Society of Decorative Artists.

Her hobbies included decorative painting using both acrylic and oil and playing bridge.

In addition to her husband, Laurence J. Smith of Grants Pass; survivors include three children, Marcus J. Smith of Santa Ana, California; Robert L. Smith and Stephanie M. Smith both of Grants Pass; and four grandchildren.
