Marilyn Dolores Watkins, age 78, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Marilyn was born on June 13, 1933 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Guy and Edna Williams. She was schooled in Lindsay, California and Fillmore, California. In 1949 she married Franklin Dean Herrick and they had two baby girls, they later divorced. She later married Marvin S. Watkins. Her parents, Edna and Guy resided in Hanford, California for many years. In 1954 and 1955 she birthed two more baby girls. She moved to different locations for job requirements before moving from Bakersfield, California to Grants Pass in 1962 where she raised her daughters. She worked for Littons Guidance and Control Industries before retiring at age 65. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved her brothers and sisters and family with all her HEART and the Lord Jesus.
She enjoyed playing the organ, making beaded jewelry, watching John Wayne movies and searching the scriptures for the truth in God’s word.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon, Shirley and Sandra; a sister, Donna Reeves, two brothers, Guy Thomas Williams Jr. and Elmer Lynn Williams; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one pending.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Susan who died in 1995.
Memorial donations may be made to Hungry Children, missions to promote God’s word throughout the world.
