Marietta A. Cobb Magill

October 27, 1929 — June 6, 2015

Marietta stepped into eternity on June 6, 2015 at her home in Grants Pass, Oregon. She was born in Sebetha, Kansas to Floyd and Mary Margaret Cobb. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Marietta lived briefly in Fayetteville, Arkansas before moving to Oregon and growing up in Glendale. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1947.
Her 63 years of marriage to Fritz Magill began also in 1947. Together, they had one daughter, Donna.

Marietta lived with her family in Glendale, Oregon where she worked for the Glendale School District for 27 years. Her favorite pastimes included travel, gardening, crafts, enjoying her family and friends and eating ice cream. She was a Past Honored Queen and honorary member of Job’s Daughters as well as twice President of the Rebekahs and a lifetime member. She was always ready to help, however she could. She had a tender heart for animals – especially her Pomeranian, Nina.

Marietta is survived by her daughter, Donna Rising & Donna’s husband Dennis, Her grandchildren, Erica Schreiner of New York City and Jeffery Schreiner & his wife Sherry of New York, her twin sisters, Deloris Scott & her husband Leonard of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, & Doris Biglow also of Myrtle Creek, Oregon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz Magill of Grants Pass, Oregon, her parents, Floyd & Mary Margaret Cobb of Glendale , Oregon, her brother, Willis Cobb of Portland, Oregon & sisters, Leeola Snelling of Phoenix, Arizona and Wilda Dishmon of Jamestown, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with Pastor Ken Bern officiating. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.

Remembrances may be made to Easter Seals.
