Marian Louise Schutz, age 85, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at an adult foster home.
Marian was born January 31, 1930 in Bronx, New York. She was 14 years old when she met Art Schutz and they became high school sweethearts at Teaneck High School in Teaneck, New Jersey. On April 9, 1950 they were married and had three children, Linda, Pam and Art. In 1956 they moved to Anaheim, California were Marian worked as a hair stylist. In 1988 they moved from Similar Valley to Grants Pass.
Marian enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.
Survivors include three children, Linda Cowie of Grants Pass, Oregon, Pam Minchew of Cicero, New York, and Arthur Schutz Jr of Fullerton, California; a half sister, Cecilia Roberge of East Haddam, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Keturah Alger and Glenn Burks both of Grants Pass, Oregon; Michelle Peterson of Perris, California, Michael Stevens of Merlin, Oregon, Garrett Schutz of Las Vegas, Nevada and Caylin Schutz of Joshua Tree, California; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Henry Schutz; her mother and stepfather, Eleanor and Ted Larkins; and her father and stepmother, Robert & Cecil Ament.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
