Marian Jane Briney

Marian Jane Briney, age 80, of Grants Pass, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends, Saturday, August 18, 2012.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Marian was born July 29, 1932 in Sacramento, California to Elsie Marie and John Martin Amaral. She attended school in Folsom, California. On September 9, 1950 in Minden, Nevada she married David Wilson Briney. In 1962 she and her husband moved from Sacramento, California to Grants Pass. After 20 years, she retired from MasterBrand Cabinets.

Her hobbies included crossword puzzles. She enjoyed her luncheons with her friends and she was called “Mother Nature” by neighbors because of her love of flowers and wildlife.

Survivors include her husband, David Briney of Grants Pass; three daughters, Donna Marie Nichols of New Mexico, Bobbi Mae Gill and Jeannie Broussand both of Grants Pass, Oregon; three sons, Michael Briney of Camarillo, California, Timothy Briney of Grants Pass, Oregon and Jack L. Briney of North Carolina; a sister Eva Mae Walden of Elgin, Oregon; a brother, John Amaral of Grants Pass; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two sons, David Martin and Henry David and a brother, Frankie L. Amaral.
