Maria Luisa Gross

Maria Luisa Gross, age 69, of Grants Pass, died December 28, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital after being struck by a motor vehicle while walking home.

Maria was born March 23, 1942 in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico. In 1969, after moving to Grants Pass, she married Billy D. Gross who died in 2001. She became a U.S. Citizen in the early 1990s.

Maria enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a dedicated member of Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her three children Jessie Gross who is stationed in San Diego serving in the Navy, Luis Remy of Grants Pass, and Cynthia Thibault of San Diego; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves behind her significant other, Melvin Smith of Grants Pass.

A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Marvin Clark officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
