Margaret Ryan “Peggy” Buker, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Spring Village.

Peggy was born July 9, 1922 in Spokane, Washington with her family living in Sandpoint, Idaho at the time. She attended the University of Montana and Whitman College as double major and received Master’s degrees in Music and Psychology. On September 2, 1947 in Missoula, Montana she married Samuel L. Buker. Peggy was a school psychologist for the Chicago School District while her husband finished his doctorate. After which she raised five children, was a homemaker and piano teacher. In 1981 she moved from Rockville, Maryland to Grants Pass.
Peggy was a 60-year member of P.E.O.
She served on the Josephine County Mental Health advisory board and volunteered with Special Olympics.
Her hobbies included gardening, photography, sewing, knitting, and cooking.
Survivors include five children, Christopher John Buker of Berwyn Heights, Maryland, Karen A. McKay of Umpqua, Oregon, Patrick Buker of Grants Pass, Oregon, Daniel Buker of Ketchikan, Alaska and Charles S. Buker of Grants Pass, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Buker in 1990.
