Marge Dives, age 64 passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3rd, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. She has lived in Grants Pass since 2006 and was an active participant in the community, including volunteering at the YMCA and going to dances with her many friends.
Marge was born at home on August 8, 1946 in Thornton, Idaho to Thomas William and Doris Merle Rowe. She was the 5th in line of 10 children.
After graduating from high school, she married Navy man, Glenn Young. They had three sons, Mathew, Jason and Travis. In their years together they traveled the United States and Spain. After divorcing, she and the boys moved to Malad, Idaho where she met and married Edwin Cleon Dives, a local rancher. After his death in 2005 she moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.
She will be missed by her sons and 8 grandchildren as well as her siblings, Loma (Arves) Lloyd of Malad, Idaho, Rita (Neil) Martin of Wilmore, Kansas, Thomas Jr. (Pat) Rowe of Oregon City, Doloris (Myles) Aldous of Nampa, Idaho, Douglas (Pat) Rowe of Mt. Vernon, Washington and Ronda (Steve) Redinger of Eugene, Oregon. Her parents and siblings, Shane, Delbert and Linda preceded her in death.
Arrangements have been made through Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Friends and family will have a memorial and tribute to Marge’s life to be held at the Cascade Bible Fellowship Church, 1515 Redwood Avenue in Grants Pass at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011.
