Margaret Hilgers Holsman

Margaret Hilgers Holsman, age 92, of Portland, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at her sister’s home in Grants Pass.

A memorial gathering will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Mausoleum entombment will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Portland. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to any Oregon humane society.

Margaret was born July 23, 1915 in Gresham, Oregon to Peter & Maria (Fischer) Lenard. In 1934 she graduated from Gresham High School. In 1938 in Portland she married Herbert Hilgers, who preceded her in death in 1972. For most of her life she lived in Portland where she worked as a salesperson at Zuker’s Women’s Clothing Store until her retirement in the late 1970s. In 1995 in Portland she married Allen Holsman, who preceded her in death in 2001. She recently came to Grants Pass to be cared for by her sister and niece.

Margaret was an avid flower gardener and loved animals.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Klose of Grants Pass; two nephews, Robert Klose of Fullerton, California and Michael Klose of Snohomish, Washington; and two nieces, Jaci Buckmaster of Ashland and Chris Hart of Grants Pass.
