Mae LaVonne Moffit, age 86, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Mae was born May 29, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Philip & Lorraine Herring. She graduated from Camas High School in Battle Ground, Washington. In 1941 she moved to Grants Pass. On December 24, 1943 she married Clifford Vance Moffit.
Over the years she attended Neighborhood Church and Parkway Christian Center.
Her hobbies included sewing, home projects, reading, and traveling.
Survivors include five daughters, Beverly Howe of Heppner, Oregon, Patricia Helm of Grants Pass, Oregon, Barbara Byrd of LaPine, Oregon, Judy Garrison of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Sherri Winfree of Wasilla, Alaska; a son, Ernest Moffit of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Josephine Cross of Oregon City, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ashley King.
