Mabel Helen Watson

Mabel Helen Watson, age 92, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her home.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Mabel was born January 19, 1922 in Susanville, California. On February 15, 1938 she married Samuel Russell Watson. They moved from California to Grants Pass where she worked as a sales clerk at Rogue River Hardware and Golden Rule Department Store.

Mabel was an original member of First Assembly of God church (now Parkway Christian Center) where for many years she sang at church and before church on the radio.

Her hobbies included a watercolor painting, flower and vegetable gardening, and trips to the Oregon coast.

Survivors include two sons, Burt Watson of Springfield, Oregon and Jerry Watson and wife Sherry of Grants Pass, Oregon; four grandchildren, Mark, Robin, Robert, and Todd; 12 great-grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, Eric, Michael, Marisa, Stephanie, Mabeleen, Christian, Aarin, Kaylah, Samuel, and Noah; and four great-grandchildren, Kiana, Skyler, Delilah, and Charlee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Russell Watson; her brothers; a granddaughter, Brenda; and a daughter-in-law, Rowene.
