Lupe Robinson, 93, of Rogue River died Jan. 12, 2013, at Rose Cottage Adult Foster Care.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Feb. 13, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 15 Broadway st., Rogue River, OR.
Second to the oldest of eight siblings, Guadalupe Garcia was born on May 30, 1919, in Long Beach, Calif. to Mercedes Goxiola & Manuel Garcia, who preceded her in death. After graduating from Long Beach Poly Technical High School, she went on to study fashion design in Los Angeles, Calif. She became Lupe Robinson on April 6, 1942, when she married Wayne Douglas Robinson, who died in 2004. The wife of a naval flight officer, Lupe moved back and forth between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of the U.S. seven times, bore a son in Honolulu, Hawaii, and toured Europe twice before settling in Rogue River, OR in 1971. After closing the short-lived Lupe’s Boutique in Rogue River, she continued to design and tailor cloths for herself and friends for many years.
She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and a member of the Rogue River Garden Club since 1972.
Lupe loved to travel, and with friends toured such places as the Oregon & Washington coast, Alaska, Reno, and San Francisco.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald V. Robinson of Santa Monica, Calif., and Douglas Robinson of Rogue River, OR; a sister, Beatrice Stansberry of Wimer, OR; and two brothers, Anthony Garcia of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Manuel Garcia of Ketchum, Idaho.
In addition to her parents and husband, four sisters, Connie McClanahan, Marie Williams, Carmen Scanlan, and Virginia Crowley precede her in death.
