Loyal Warner “Johnnie” Johnson, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.
Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
He was born December 2, 1922 in Holland, Oregon to Warner & Coralie Johnson. From 1942 to 1946 he served in the United States Navy. On September 25, 1948 in Cave Junction he married Thelma Plumlee. In 1983 he retired from the Operating Engineers Local #701.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge; Assembly of God Church; and River of Life Foursquare Church.
His hobbies included playing gin and pinochle; hunting; bowling; and playing the fiddle with his family of fiddlers.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Amaral, Teresa Johnson, and Vicki Johnson all of Grants Pass; a sister, Helen Luckett of Grants Pass; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Johnson on March 4, 2000 and a son, Warner Johnson in July 1977.
