Louis Lyons, age77, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.
A viewing with memorabilia of Lou’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Louis was born October 28, 1936 in Binghamton, New York the eldest of three sons born to the late Aaron & Bertha Lyons. He spent his teen years in Binghamton and graduated from high school there. He attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and in 1958 graduated with a Bachelors degree in chemical engineering. He worked at Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio for two years. He then wanted to see the country, so he drove to California to visit relatives. While there he was hired by Fairchild Semiconductor and worked in the electronics industry for a number of years. On May 30, 1964 he married Beverly Keech Bowen. In late 1964 Lou became a Fairchild field salesman working in Philadelphia for two years before returning to the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1968 he left the electronic industry and worked for Allstate Insurance as a sales agent until his retirement in 1994. He received many awards for “salesman of the month” plus other awards. In December 1994 he moved from Los Altos, California to Grants Pass.
After moving to Grants Pass he joined RASCAL (Senior Computer Club) where he was an officer and taught computer classes.
Lou was an avid reader and spent much time reading all the things he never had time for before his retirement. He also loved men’s choral music, and playing Bridge and pool.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Lyons of Grants Pass, Oregon; three children, Bruce Lyons of Vancouver, Washington, Karen Barbour of Forest Ranch, California; and Gregory Lyons of Grants Pass, Oregon; two brothers, Richard Lyons of Tamarac, Florida and Stephen Lyons of Las Vegas, Nevada; and three grandchildren.
