Lorraine E. Mendoza, age 80, of Rogue River, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River. A potluck and celebration of life will immediately follow at the Mendoza Residence. Please save the date.

Lorraine was born November 27, 1928 in Oakland, California where she attended Oakland Technical High School. On December 11, 1947 she married the love of her life, soulmate, William Joseph Mendoza. They were married for 56 years. In 1950 she was blessed with a baby boy. In 1954 she was blessed with a baby girl. She was a very active volunteer at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic School in San Leandro, California. In 1969 she moved from San Leandro to Rogue River. She worked several jobs over the years including Novelcrafts in Rogue River. Her most important job was being a homemaker.
Lorraine was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary, Post 4116.
She loved all things red and enjoyed research on angels. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, traveling and music. She loved spending time with family and friends and cooking for them.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Beaumont of Rogue River; four grandchildren, Jess Costello of Reno, Nevada, Cari Costello of San Diego, California, Michele Judd of Wasilla, Alaska, and Shawn Marshall of Livermore, California; a godson, Randy Kanouse of Sacramento, California; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Those who made it to heaven before her include her husband, William Mendoza; her son, Michael Mendoza; and her sister, Helen Clark.
