Margaret Lorraine Burkett Colvin went to heaven on August 11, 2019.
She was born May 26, 1930 to Edward Burkett and Dottie Henley Burkett. She had one sister, Nancy Wright. She lived in Missouri until moving to Oregon in 1939. She attended Rogue River schools graduating in 1948 as valedictorian. She worked as a private secretary until she married Mervin W. Colvin in January 1951. They were married 64 years and had four children – Dana (married to Greg Hayes), Debbie (married to Mick Burk), Mark Colvin (married to Lori), and Lane Colvin (married to Teri). She had nine grandchildren and 11 and counting great-grandchildren.
She became a Christian in the 1970s and was a member of Grace Bible Church. She volunteered at church and at school. She was a Den Mother and a Pink Lady volunteer at the hospital. She loved to travel and had several interesting trips to Europe, Asia and also Russia. She loved music, the outdoors, her yard, playing golf, RVing in the winter, decorating and what she called her “funky” artsy projects. But, the dearest thing in her life was spending time with her family – especially the holidays. She felt so blessed to have a wonderful family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband.
Private services were held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass.
