Loretta Alice Anthony O’Brien, age 95, of Grants Pass, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her home.
She was born June 16, 1920 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Ralph E. Anthony & Florence Clemett Anthony. On July 14, 1940 she married Malcolm B. O’Brien and after 52 years of marriage, he preceded her in death. She worked in retail sales and real estate.
Loretta had been a member of the Nazarene church and enjoyed visiting the homebound.
An avid crocheter and knitter, she also enjoyed writing poetry and reading.
She loved and was loved by her five children and their spouses, Martha & George Hayden of Renton, Washington, Renee & Tom Link of Grants Pass, Oregon, Tom & Dawn O’Brien of Goldendale, Washington, Jim & Barbara O’Brien of New London, Connecticut, and Kathi & Dan Gentry of Cave Creek, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service will be held at a future date.
