Lois Elva Driskell

Lois Elva Driskell, age 85, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Lois was born July 11, 1927 in Pomeroy, Washington to Francis & Elva (Fitz) Mann. She attended schools in Bend, Oregon and Brookings, Oregon. She was self-employed all her life; she raised animals, cut and sold firewood, raised her family, and was a caregiver. In 1980 she returned to school for her GED and passed at the top of her class. In 1988 she moved from Lebanon, Oregon to Grants Pass.

Her hobbies included bingo, crafting, embroidery, crocheting, reading, and puzzle books. In addition to raising her own children, she always welcomed the neighborhood children into her home and they called her “ma.” She enjoyed serving her homemade doughnuts.

Survivors include four daughters, Margie Webb of Grants Pass, Jennie Robinson of Dodd City, Texas, Teresa Driskell of Grants Pass, and Donna Fout of Oroville, Washington; three sons, Tom Driskell of Lebanon, Oregon, Rick Driskell of Oroville, Washington and Dave Driskell of Sodaville, Oregon; a stepsister, Louise Russell of Blodgett, Oregon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
