Lex Alan Johnson, age 26, of Cave Junction, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 in Selma.
Services have been held. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
The family requests to accept the Ice Bucket Challenge and donate to ALS all in memory of Lex.
Lex was born July 22, 1988 in Grants Pass. He grew up in Cave Junction and graduated from Illinois Valley High School in 2006 where he wrestled and played soccer. He attended Oregon State University before working as a wild land firefighter. He then worked for Taylor Sausage as a manager in Bend, Oregon for a year before moving back to Cave Junction where he worked as night manager for Taylor’s. He most recently worked in construction.
Lex especially enjoyed hiking, river swimming, camping, mountain bike riding – anything outdoors. He had a multitude of friends who were his family.
Survivors include his parents, Lonnie Johnson and Leslie Johnson both of Cave Junction, Oregon; a sister, Lori Alleman and husband Korey of Prairieville, Lousiana; two brothers, Danny Johnson and wife Denise of Grants Pass, Oregon and Levi Johnson of Cave Junction, Oregon; six nieces and nephews, Makayla Alleman, Peyton Alleman, Skyler Alleman, Tessara DePasquale, Allegra DePasquale and Katarina DePasquale; maternal grandmother, Ruby Cummins of Ventura, California; and a cousin, Chris Hiebert.
