Leslie Donald Baker went on to be with his Lord in Heaven Jesus Christ, April 1st, 2022. At the moment of his passing, Les was surrounded by loved ones. He passed peacefully to the sounds of his family and closest friend’s voices as they bid heartfelt farewells, prayed over him, and softly sang praises to Jesus, whom Les would be embracing shortly.
Les Baker grew up in Southern Oregon on Roxy Ann Mountain, on property his family had settled several generations earlier in the 1800’s. As a life-long Rogue Valley resident, Les enjoyed the great outdoors and mountainous adventures. He was a well reputed hunter and fisherman who spent precious time teaching his three sons how to hunt, fish, and camp, as well as training them in numerous outdoor survival skills.
Lester was known for his mighty strength, his gentle tenderness of heart, and for his faithfulness to friends and family. He was a beloved member of his church and a friend to many. His vocational career spanned across agriculture, construction, and transportation. He and his, beautiful and loyal wife Mary Lou founded a very successful trucking company which grew and thrived for many years. They made many friends in the industry and to this day remain esteemed members of the trucking community.
Les Baker’s heart was like that of an artesian well, bubbling over with an abundance of love for family and friends. Mr. Baker’s lifetime of memories live on in the hearts of his wife Mary Moss-Baker, and his three sons Terry Baker (married to Terri Baker) John Walter Moss (married to Tamra Moss), and Don Moss (married to Wilda Moss). Perhaps most importantly, Les adored his grandchildren with a special kind of love; he kept them in his heart and prayers at all times. They are grandsons DJ Faulkner, Skyler Witt-Baker, John Alexander Moss, John Wyatt Moss, and granddaughter Jordan George. He is survived by his older brother Ron Baker Sr. and his younger brother Ray Baker Sr.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, please send any donations to serve the missions of his church. Les was a cherished member of the Living Praise Church and a close friend to Pastor Lyle King, who was with him and his family faithfully all the way through.
A service for Les Baker will be held at Living Praise Church, 115 Gibbon Rd., Central Point Oregon. Service will begin at 3pm on Tuesday April 12th, 2022. All are welcome to attend.
