Leon Hannah Sr. was born on May 15, 1937 in Widener, Arkansas. He was the eleventh of fifteen children of Roy & Viola Hannah. He relocated his family to California in 1967. He and his wife Josephine moved to Southern Oregon in 2002. He was a true worshiper of Jehovah God and an active Witness. Leon loved life, fishing, gardening and much more.
Leon met his wife, Josephine when he was 12 and she was 6. They wedded on August 25, 1957 and were married for 60 years. Their union was blessed with 9 children, 30 grandchildren and
6 great-grandchildren. Leon and Josephine owned and operated Hannah’s Restaurant at Historic Steam Laundry in Grants Pass, serving authentic southern cookery.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, his 5 sons and 3 daughters; Sandra Deloris Hannah, Leon Hannah Jr. (deceased), Carolyn Jean Hannah-Payne, Gerald Wayne Hannah, Andre Fitzgerald Hannah, Tony Derrick Hannah, Byron Keith Hannah, Leigh Anne Hannah-Moseley, Philip Stephen Hannah, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Leon’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2412 Williams Highway, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527.
