Leon Fletcher, age 92, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Leon was born in Bristol, Texas, the youngest of three brothers and two sisters. He was a cotton farmer in New Deal, Texas and also worked at the Cotton Gin. Later in his life he was head of maintenance at Texas Tech College in Lubbock, Texas for several years. He then moved to Waxahachie, Texas where he worked for Waxahachie High School until he transferred to Ennis School District and remained there until his retirement. In 1999 he moved to Grants Pass where he lived with his daughter, Joyce.
He was a member of Woodsman of the World.
His hobbies included listening to music, dancing, gardening, singing, playing musical instruments and domino parties.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Ann Anno of Grants Pass and Debra Jan Vaughn of Payne Springs, Texas; a son Raymond Fletcher of Phillips Ranch, California; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Jeanette Delnay; his parents, Frank Mack & Georgia Lee (Webber) Fletcher; two sisters, Georgia Lee Brown and Mary Dodson; and three brothers, Frank Mack Fletcher, Jim Fletcher and Robert Fletcher.
