Lee Thomas Fletcher

Lee Thomas Fletcher, 65, of Grants Pass, died suddenly on December 4, 2008.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Salvation Army Worship Hall, located at 2543 Redwood Avenue. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born on May 5, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Larice and Mabel Fletcher. Prior to moving to Grants Pass in July 2001 he resided in Ukiah, California where he retired from Safeway after 37 years of service. Since moving to Grants Pass, Lee and his wife Kathy have been actively involved in numerous community service organizations and projects.

Lee volunteered at Foodshare (UCAN) warehouse where he was awarded Volunteer of the Year. Areas of special interest were the Salvation Army, various food pantries, and St. Vincent DePaul. He was an active member of the Grants Pass Lions Club since 2002. Lee served in various capacities including President, Vice-President and Tail Twister. He and Kathy co-chaired the Lions Food Concession Food Booth at the Josephine County Fairgrounds for the past five years.

Lee is survived by Kathy, his loving wife of 30 years; his children, Beth White of Reno, Nevada; Laurel Snyder (Jerry) of Sterling Heights, Michigan; Tom Fletcher of Ukiah, California; David Fletcher (Jennifer) of Marysville, Michigan; step-children, Mike Clark of Danville, California; and Stacey (Ken) Caico of Ukiah, California; his brother, John of Grass Valley, California; and sister-in-law Sharon Hicks of Grants Pass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild held a special place in his heart. That love and devotion will be greatly missed Melissa, Matthew, Madison, Mason and Molly, Lisa, Renee and Danielle, Alec, Michael, Chris, Steven, Cindy and Scott, and one great-grandchild, Aidan.
