Lee Heape, age 76, of Rogue River, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born Clarence Leroy Heape July 15, 1932 in Bakersfield, California to Ed & Elva Heape. In May 1951 he left high school to join the United States Navy. On January 10, 1959 in Port Orchard, Washington he married Marilyn R. Turner. After his retirement from the Navy in September 1970, he went to work as a Machine Shop Supervisor at the Naval Station in San Diego, California. In September 1988 he retired from that position and moved to northern California for four years. In 1994 he moved to Rogue River.
His memberships included the Fleet Reserve Association; Grants Pass Elks; Family Motor Coach Association; and Sierra Ramblers Motor Home Chapter FMCA.
His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn R. Heape of Rogue River; he is survived by four children, Kathie Crume of Rogue River, Michael Heape of Redondo Beach, California, Ruth Cruz of El Cajon, California, and Kerri Neumann of Alpine, California; four sisters, Marcella Festner of San Juan Capistrano, California, Betty McCall of Tacoma, Washington, Mary Higdon of Fort Worth, Texas, and Evelyn Harmon of Kalama, Washington; three brothers, Jack Heape of Garden Grove, California, Donald Heape of Placerville, California, and Richard Heape of Sun City, California; ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Heape.
