Lawrence Porzio

Lawrence Porzio, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his home.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence was born October 19, 1930 in San Fernando, California to Angelo & Rosina Porzio. On February 23, 1949 he married Joan Erickson. He worked as an operating engineer at General Paving Company in Norwalk, California until his retirement in 1984. In 1985 he moved from Paramount, California to Grants Pass.

Lawrence was a member of the Operating Engineers and after his retirement, the Grants Pass Elks Lodge.

He was interested in anything mechanical and loved mechanic tinkering and restoring vintage cars and antique engines.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Porzio of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sons, Mike Porzio of Grants Pass, Oregon and Steve Porzio of Kincaid, Kansas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sophie Porzio and Mary Billi both of Pacoima, California; and a brother, Joe Porzio of Cayucos, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Porzio.

He will be missed.
