Lawrence “Larry” Kier, age 60, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W 6th Street, Medford, Oregon 97501.
Larry was born March 1, 1954 in Yankton, South Dakota to Bernard & Doris Kier. He attended high school in Castro Valley, California and after graduating enlisted in the United States Navy serving in Vietnam. He worked for Pacific Bell in San Jose, California until his retirement after 20 years. In 1990 in San Jose Larry married Sharon Alesse. In 1995 he moved from San Jose to Grants Pass, Oregon where he worked as a real estate agent with ERA Prestige Homes then RE/MAX.
His hobbies included fishing, golf, and poker. He was a sports fan and especially followed the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon Kier of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Colleen Marazan of San Jose, California; a sister, Marsha Boling of Portland, Oregon; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Nicole Phinney.
