LaVerne Kay Rossiter, age 61, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at her home.
A viewing will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Granite Hill Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
LaVerne was born January 24, 1953 in Grants Pass, Oregon. She worked for Three Rivers School District and Madrona Elementary School where she was a Special Education Assistant Teacher. She retired from Madrona Elementary School in 2012.
LaVerne volunteered at the local food bank.
Her hobbies included sewing, painting rocks with her grandchildren and going to the ocean.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Rossiter of Grants Pass; two daughters, Maggie Rossiter of Grants Pass and Lynn Gibson and husband Kevin of Nampa, Idaho; four sons, William Rossiter and wife Danielle, Eric Rossiter, Wyet Rossiter and wife Lana and Lewis Rossiter and wife Brittney, all of Grants Pass; her step-mother, Leanora Shippy of Battleground, Washington; three sisters, Linda Shippy of Grants Pass, Oregon, Judy Thornton of Kuna, Idaho and Maria Barker of Caldwell, Idaho; five brothers, David Shippy of Grants Pass, Oregon, Edward Shippy of Grants Pass, Oregon, Danny Shippy of Middleton, Idaho, Paul Shippy of Grants Pass, Oregon and Patric Shippy of Marsing, Idaho and 14 grandchildren, Kyle Eells, Hannah Rossiter, Alex Eells, Casey Eells, Kailey Rossiter, Dwain Gibson, Ella Rossiter, Sam Rossiter, Trent Rossiter, Kiera Gibson, Madison Rossiter, Aiden Rossiter, Dakota Rossiter and Addaley Gibson.
Preceding her in death was a daughter Dalee Rossiter and three sisters, Mavis Shippy, Colleen Cunningham and Mabel Shippy.
