Laura M. Ulmer, age 88, of Grants Pass, died Monday, September 10, 2012 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be held in California with burial at Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements.

Laura was born August 15, 1924 on her family farm in Benedict, Nebraska to Archie & Grace Doremus. On January 6, 1943 she married Milton J. Ulmer. In 1952 they moved to California due to their daughter’s health. She retired 30 years ago after working in the dry cleaning business and electronics. In 1988 she moved to Redding, California and on September 29, 2011 she moved to Grants Pass.
Laura volunteered at Lady Lions in Mountain View, California and at Adobe Wells & Plaza Del Rey Mobile Park Activities Club in Sunnyvale, California.
Her hobbies included sewing, cake decorating, floral arranging and she was a fantastic cook.
Survivors include two children, Karen Ritcheson and husband, Lee of Redding, California and Sharen Cruz and husband, Joseph of Grants Pass; two sisters, Marge Bolton of Fremont, Nebraska and Dorothy Hatfield of San Jose, California; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband Milton J. Ulmer; two sisters Lois Cross and Nola Jean Doremus; a brother Donald Doremus; and her parents Grace & Archie Doremus
