Laura “Leona” Austin, age 79, of Central Point, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 in Medford.
A visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on both Saturday, November 3, 2007 and Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Mondayl, November 5, 2007 at Rogue Valley Community Church (623 Pine Street, Rogue River) with Pastor Dan O’Donnell officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born December 20, 1927 in Brimson, Missouri to Jason & Iva (Meek) Hann. In 1945 she graudated from Whittier High School in Whittier, California. On April 20, 1946 in Troy, Kansas she married Thomas L. Austin. For 34 years she worked for the Whittier Union School District as a pastry chef and administrative assistant until retiring in 1988. In 1988 she moved from Whittier to Central Point. For 18 years she worked for Harry & David until September 2007.
She was an active member of Rogue Valley Community Church since1988 where she was a greeter.
Her family was her greatest joy and she lived her life for the Lord.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Schiff of Sante Fe, New Mexico and Elizabeth Roarke of Central Point; a sister, Lawan Huffman of Medford; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Austin in 1996.
