Laura Jeanne Hunt, age 62, of Rogue River, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A memorial service “Celebration of Life” will be held at the New Beginnings Christian Center in Rogue River on Saturday, April 21 at 1 PM.
Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to New Beginnings Christian Center, for the Harvest House Food Bank at 270 W Evans Creek Road, Rogue River, Oregon 97537.
Laura was born June 9, 1949 in Long Beach, California to Thomas & Betty Harris. In 1968 she graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego, California. After high school, she studied and received a certified nursing assistant (CNA ) certificate and worked as a CNA for 7 years. In 1986 she moved from San Diego to Rogue River, Oregon. On February 13, 1988 she married George Hunt in Grants Pass Oregon.
Laura was a member of New Beginnings Christian Center for 17 years where she sang in the choir and worked with the Harvest House Food Bank and Outreach.
In her youth, Laura loved riding her horse on the beach in Mexico. Her interests included crocheting, knitting, camping and fishing. In the evening, she especially enjoyed viewing the mountains from her backyard with her husband George.
In addition to her husband, George Hunt of Rogue River, Oregon; Laura is survived by two brothers, Thomas “Drake” Harris of San Diego, California and Scott Harris of Cardiff, California.
