Lauila Iosia Hartley

November 2, 1940 — January 18, 2025

Lauila Iosia Hartley born in Tuvalu when it was recognized at the Gilbert and Ellice Island Colony on November 2, 1940, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 18, 2025, in Medford, Oregon. She was dearly loved, and loved others dearly. She married Henry E. Hartley on May 16, 1966 on the beautiful island of Funafuti, Tuvalu. Her early years in the United States took her to Arkansas, Nevada, California and Oregon where she settled in Medford. She loved her church family, family, and Union Rogue Baptist Camp immensely. She took joy in singing, playing the guitar and ukulele, and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved cooking and spent many years cooking in several local restaurants and during church camp.

She is survived by Henry, her husband of 58 years; her daughters Leslie, Amy, and Charlotte; her grandchildren Brian, Lisa, Karen, Manaema, Saili, Lee, Tyson, and Moses; and her great grandchildren Bellamie, Luna, Dean, Kyra, and Iosua.
