Larry Sackett, age 87, of Cave Junction, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A celebration of life and potluck will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2011 at Illinois Valley Grange, 3763 Holland Loop Road, Cave Junction. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born Laurence Rondo Sackett on June 22, 1924 in Nephi, Utah to Edward & Bertha (Pass) Sackett. During World War II he served in the United States Army in Japan. For 30 years he worked for the Operators Engineers Local 3 as a backhoe operator building roads in California until his retirement in the early 1980s. On June 23, 1990 in Reno, Nevada he married his wife, Dolores. He moved from Redding, California to Cave Junction 22 years ago.
His hobbies included spending time in the outdoors; roping; horses; camping; driving and traveling.
Larry is survived by his wife, Dolores Sackett of Cave Junction, Oregon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Sackett; two brothers; and a sister.
