Larry James Simons

Larry James Simons, age 67, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born June 16, 1946 in Riverside, California to Earnest & Ruth (Hand) Simons. In 1965 he graduated from high school at La Sierra Academy and joined the United States Army. He served in Korea from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He then attended Riverside City College for one year before moving to Grants Pass in 1973. He was a welder for Fire View Wood Stoves; worked for Litton Industries; and for 18 years drove for Gordon Trucking. In 2006 in Carson City, Nevada he married Karen Mickel.

Larry formerly attended the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church.

His hobbies included riding quads at Oregon and California dunes; playing softball; and electrical work.

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen Simons of Grants Pass, Oregon; a son, Shawn Simons and wife Jodi of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, Steven Simons of Grand Terrace, California; and two grandsons.
