Larry F. Pesterfield, age 88, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Oak Lane Retirement, 727 SW Rogue River Avenue, Grants Pass. Private interment was held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born October 3, 1923 in Orange, California to Frank & Hazel Pesterfield. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps as a B17 Gunner. He was in the group that was “first over Germany.” On February 4, 1945 in San Juan Capistrano, California he married Mary G. Gregg and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1949. Earlier family members had settled in the Rogue Valley area as early as 1850. After his wife’s death in 2002 he married Mary Katheryn Sheneman in 2006.
Larry was a member of Rogue Gem and Geology Club and local VFW groups.
He enjoyed gardening, wood carving, and most of all geology.
In addition to his wife, Mary Pesterfield; he is survived by two children, Jerry Pesterfield and Linda Jo “Jody” Pesterfield; and a brother, Martin Pesterfield.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary G. Pesterfield; his parents; and a brother, Leonard Pesterfield.
