Laren G. Sheets

Laren G. Sheets, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home.

Laren was born July 5, 1939 in Del Norte, Colorado. Together with his wife, Patricia “Pat”, whom he married in 1956; the family lived in Montrose, Colorado; and in their mid-20s Laren and Pat moved to Oregon to build a better life. In 1957 their son Jack was born and in 1959 their son Laren “Bud” was born.

In his younger years, he enjoyed jogging and long walks.

Laren was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Gilbert Creek Ward; and he was willing to help others. He was a great provider for his family and cherished his wife.

Survivors include his son Bud Sheets of Rigby, Idaho; three grandchildren, Nathan of Grants Pass, Kara of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jesse of Gold Hill; and seven great grandchildren.

Laren is preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” in 2013; and his son Jack in 1992.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Savage Street Building with Larry Smith conducting. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
