Kristin Elaine Chard

Kristin Elaine Chard, age 60, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her home.

A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with a gathering immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 821 SE 14th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97214.

Kristin was born September 26, 1950 in Grants Pass to Jerry & Florence Sparlin. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1968 and then attained her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. She met her husband, Robert Chard at OIT and they were married June 27, 1970. For 28 years she worked at the Grants Pass Clinic including 14 years as the laboratory manager.

Kristin was a member of The Nature Conservancy and was Master Gardener of the Year in 1998. She enjoyed traveling and camping in her RV, sewing, knitting, crafting, gardening, wire wrap jewelry, genealogy and playing disc golf with her family, all of whom play.

In addition to her husband, Robert Chard and her parents, Jerry & Florence Sparlin all of Grants Pass, she is survived by a brother, Tim Sparlin of Fremont, California; a sister, Marteen Sparlin of Corvallis, Oregon; two sons, Clinton Chard and Clayton Chard of Grants Pass; and three grandchildren.
