KIRK JORDAN THEODOROFF, left all of us too suddenly and too soon when he passed away Friday, September 25th., 2015, at Asante in Medford after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 52.
Kirk was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on June 21st., 1963, to parents Krum and Marilyn Theodoroff, who survive and still live in the home they raised him in. He was their baby boy, the lively sprite that joined their two older and less exciting children.
He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1981 and went on to have a long career in broadcasting where his rich, deep radio voice and quick witted humor and impressions brought him great joy and success.
While working in Eugene he met Roxanne DuLong-Bushnell and they would move back to live in Grants Pass and marry on the beach in Brookings, Oregon in October of 1999. They spent many happy years scuba diving, crabbing, clamming and camping at the coast, gardening and hiking the hillsides mushroom hunting with their beloved Labs Ben and Jerry along side.
Kirk went back to school for his BS degree in environmental science and graduated with honors in 2014 from OSU, honor roll and Phi Kappa Phi. He was hired by The Herb Pharm as an analytical lab technician in the spring of this year and found his dream job. He loved the challenge of working in the lab and shared a deep respect and friendship with his coworkers.
To sum up a life that was filled with so much lively conversation, sardonic humor and wry observations of life in general is impossible. To say he was loved greatly by many is easy and true. His love for nature, his family, his dogs was shaped by a happy childhood and rooted in his capacity to love deeply and fully.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Roxanne; his parents, Krum and Marilyn; his sister Linda Sandeen (Andy) of Grants Pass, his brother Mark Theodoroff (Lisa) of Portland, his daughter Briahli Theodoroff of Grants Pass, 2 grandchildren and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by Ben and Jerry, who are wagging their tails and waiting for their beloved master to rejoin them in a hike in heaven.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held for Kirk on Saturday, October 10th., at 1:00 p.m. at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors in Grants Pass.
In lieu of flowers please donate a moment of your time to rescue something furry, seek out a sunrise, or notice someone in need of a kiss. That one moment can change everything.
