Kenneth Roger Peterson, lovingly known as Ken, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on January 5, 1963, in the picturesque Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ken was the cherished son of Roger Peterson and Patricia Legrand.
Ken dedicated four years of his life to serving in the Navy, joining in 1984 as an aviation maintenance technician. He took pride in working on the A-7 Corsair aboard the USS Enterprise, where he learned the value of teamwork and discipline.
On June 25, 1988, Ken married his beloved wife, Theresa Brown, in Grants Pass, Oregon, where they built a beautiful life together. They were blessed with three wonderful children: Krista, Brandon, and Brice.
For many years, Ken lent his talents to Options of Southern Oregon in maintenance. His creativity shone through in all he did, and he embraced life with a smile that brightened the hearts of those around him. In his leisure time, Ken found peace and happiness in nature. He enjoyed thrifting, spending days at the coast and lakes fishing, sailing, plane spotting, going to air shows, and restoring Hobie Cats. He was especially fond of his dachshund, Oscar, with whom he shared countless moments of joy, including playtime and warm cuddles, even during his courageous battle with cancer.
Ken's warmth, kindness, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, and their three children, Krista Peterson of Eugene, Oregon, Brandon Peterson of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Brice Peterson of Grants Pass, Oregon. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Victor Thang, daughter-in-law, Frankie Kaplan, his mother Patricia Legrand, and his siblings: Debbie, Sheila, Ron, Steve, Don, and Lynn.
Ken is preceded in death by his father, Roger Peterson.
