Kelvin Edward Murphy

The Memorial Service for Kelvin Edward Murphy will take place at 1pm on Saturday, January 24 at Grace Bible Church. Kelvin’s brother-in-law, Reverend Gene Ragan will officiate the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Kelvin, 76, passed away at Providence Medical Center on January 14, 2015 after a long illness.

He was born on July 25, 1938 in Glenrock, Wyoming and moved to Oregon in 1940. Kelvin was employed in the logging industry for over 40 years, including 31 years with Plumbly Inc.

On December 6, 1958, he married Ruby Ragan who survives.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended Grace Bible Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Randy Murphy, and daughter-in- law, Leslie Moon of Portland, OR; a daughter, Kathleen Lackey, and son-in-law Vince of Grants Pass, OR; a daughter, Julie Fritzler and son-in-law Joel of Flagstaff, AZ; three grandsons and two granddaughters.

Additional survivors include four sisters, Emmalee Sharp, Judy Bennett, Kathleen Murphy, Patricia Linder, and brother, Dennis Murphy.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
