Katherine E. Voland, age 97, of Grants Pass, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Dick Boden officiating. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Katherine was born October 15, 1911 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to John & Margaret Egner. In the spring of 1942 she enrolled in the WAC. She traveled to Naples, Italy where she was sworn into the regular Army and worked as a secretary to Colonel Robert A. Cooper. In 1945 Katherine met and married Phillip Voland in Naples, Italy. After World War II, they arrived in Grants Pass where they spent their lives together.
Katherine was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship, a release time program in local public schools; Christian Women’s Club; and was a member of PEO Chapter EH.
She enjoyed cooking, crafts, traveling, and caring for her family.
Katherine is survived by two daughters, Margy Schaefer and husband Gary of Grants Pass; and Beverly Harvey of Oregon City; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip in May of 1984.
