Junior "Jay" Davison

December 10, 1928 — March 28, 2017

Junior Davison 'Jay' died peacefully in his home on Tuesday March 28th.

Jay was born in Klamath Falls on December 10, 1928. His family moved to Grants Pass when he was two. He grew up on his family farm on Upper River Rd and attended Fort Vannoy and Grants Pass High School. As a young man Jay loved to ride his Harley and Indian motorcycles and even boasted of crusing the halls of Grants Pass High School on his Harley. The principal didn't much like his prank and asked him to leave so he joined the Navy at the age of 17 and was stationed on Coronado Island. He lived most of his life in Grants Pass except for a few years in California and Alaska. Jay owned and operated his own trucking company until he retired. Growing up Junior attended the Assembly of God church here in Grants Pass. He continued his walk of faith until the end of his life.

In 1951 he married Mickie McIntire. Jay and Mickie had just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on January 21st of this year. Along with his wife Mickie Davison he is survived by his children Lonnie Davison, Kim Morgan, Jana Gibson and Brandi Hood. Grandchildren Jason and Joshua Davison, Aimee Smith, Michele Morgan, Kellie Chiodo, Wade, Kevin and Kara Murff along with his sister JoAnn Avila as well as several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Minnie Davison and his brothers John, Roy and Ted Davison.

A private ceremony will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetary. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in Junior's name to the Grants Pass Gospel Rescue Mission.
