Judith Marilyn August

On September 5th, 2015 in the early hours of the morning, Our Beloved Mom, Grandma, Friend and Lady, Judith Marilyn August peacefully passed on to her Eternal Rest. She was at her home in Wilderville, OR with her Beloved Scott Glantz, and her Son Ed August who were holding her hands and speaking to her softly.

Judith Marilyn August was born June 4, 1948 in Grants Pass, OR. Young Miss Judy’s life story began joyfully when Floyd and Louise Smith adopted her. She learned how to enthusiastically grab on to life and to diligently make her way. She was intelligent, insightful and involved in the world around her. For most of her life, she delivered newspapers for the News Register, The Oregonian and The Daily Courier.

Judy’s life was spicy and vibrant just like she was. In her younger years, she rode horses, her long blonde hair a beautiful sight to behold. She enjoyed shooting pool, gardening, reading, cooking, baking, barbequing and social media . She liked to keep her hands and her mind busy with arts and crafts including: knitting, painting, jewelry making, crochet, woodwork and needlepoint. The family is blessed to have much of her intricate artwork for their memories. She loved going camping, enjoying the outdoors and spending time around the campfire. Fishing was her favorite pastime, most days you could find her at Lake Selmac sitting on the dock in the sun and catching her limit. Her heart was huge and filled with love for her family and friends. Marathon Family card games were very common.

Judy is survived by Her Beloved Scott Glantz; her son Ed August; her grandchildren: Stephan, David and Jessica August; Jamie Modtland; and Kayla, Shonda, Aleesa and Bella Yother; Brother-in-law Jerry “Tigger” August; daughter-in-law Christine August and more. She was preceded in death to Floyd & Louise Smith and her 2nd born son Larry August.

Services are as follows. The burial service is Monday September 14th, 2015 at Wilderville Cemetery in Wilderville, OR at 10:30. “A Celebration of Life” at the Pursuit of the Nazarene Church immediately follows it on 922 W Harbeck Rd Grants Pass, OR at 12:00. All are welcome to come and share memories and stories with the family.
