Juanita "Nita" Emmaline Clark

Juanita “Nita” Emmaline Clark, age 78, of Grants Pass passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2014, 1-4 pm at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Hull & Hull Chapel.

Nita was born July 23, 1935, in Wheatridge, Colorado to Waynard and Marguerite (Leake) Fithian. She moved with her family to Grants Pass in 1948 and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1953. In 1957 she married Tommy L. Clark.

After high school, Nita began her career as a secretary for a local attorney. In 1954 she joined the Josephine County Clerk’s Office, where she remained until her retirement in 1997, retiring as the Chief Elections Deputy after 43 years of service.

Nita was a member of the Church of Christ, as well as a long-standing member of Zonta International.

She enjoyed her family, traveling, shopping, reading, doing crafts, taking water aerobic classes at the YMCA, and luncheons with her many friends.

Survivors include a son, Tommy W. Clark and a daughter, Cathy R. Byard, both of Grants Pass; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
