A celebration of life will be held for Chantal and Juan Canopii on Sunday, October 22nd at 1300 located at the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1360 NE 9th Street, Grants Pass. The couple passed away on October 1st in a private plane crash. Chantal and Juan met in 2005, married in 2007, and resided in Glendale. They were both actively involved in the community and loved traveling.
Chantal Janice Canopii, 60, was born in Grants Pass, OR and raised in Glendale, Oregon where she resided her entire life. She was employed by her family owned company, Swanson Group, as a voting board member and worked full time in the accounts payable department. Chantal enjoyed traveling the world and had done missionary work with a local church. She was a member of the Glendale Alumni Association and always worked behind-the-scenes on Juan’s fundraisers and endeavors.
Juan Carlos Canopii, 54, was born in New Jersey, joined the military after graduating high school, traveled the world and lived in Hawaii before moving to Glendale, Oregon in 2005. At the time of his passing, Juan was a Master Sgt. with 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Air Field in Klamath Falls. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2007, had military special operations training, was a certified concealed weapon instructor and was an actor, entertainer and comedian. Juan was well known in the local gun and sportsman community. He hosted many local community fund raisers and was a member of VSAF, NRA, SAG and AFTRA.
