Joyce H. Murphy

Joyce H. Murphy, age 61, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at her son’s home.

A Celebration of Life for family, friends and aquaintenances will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Tom Pearce Park. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Josephine County, 31 W. 6th Street, Medford OR 97501.

Joyce was born August 9, 1945 in Grants Pass and attended local schools including Grants Pass High School. She worked downtown as a manager at Blind Georges for 15 years. Later, she worked as a caregiver at Forest Meadows Care Home where she worked for several years before becoming ill.

Her hobbies included quilting and small woodworking.

Survivors include her children, Keith Wayne Murphy of Grants Pass and Dorena Lynn Swilley of Christmas Valley; and brother, John Hurd of Eagle Point.

Preceding her in death was her son, Jerry Dean Murphy and brother Charles Hurd.
