Joseph R. Halliday III, age 65, of Grants Pass, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at his home.
Rich was born October 14, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From 1968 to 1972 he served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. From 1972 to 2002 he worked as a mechanical design engineer for Hewlett Packard Corporation. He moved from Sunnyvale, California to Grants Pass in 2003 and in 2005 started working as Josephine County facilities manager until his retirement in 2011.
Rich was a member of the Salmon Steelhead Association and Gun Owners of America. He volunteered in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, jeep off-roading, and automobile mechanic work.
Rich is survived by his wife, Dayna of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Jennifer of Scottsdale, Arizona; his mother, Elenora of Medford, Oregon; two sisters, Lynn of Medford, Oregon and Lee of Davis, California; a brother, David of Alameda, California; and two granddaughters, Claire and Emily of Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R. Halliday Jr.
